Controller service & repair

The right call when a controller is throwing alarms, locking out, or behaving unpredictably but the pump itself is sound. Most service calls land here: a single failed component (a relay, a transducer, a terminal block) triggering what looks like a system-wide failure. We diagnose first and quote second; full controller replacement is rarely the right answer when board-level repair will close the call. This is the non-emergency path: your fire suppression is still online, you just want it fixed before it isn't.

Annual testing & inspection

Required by NFPA 25 every year, with a heavier acceptance-style flow test every third year. If your AHJ or insurance carrier is asking for a current test report, this is the service. What you get back is a documentation packet sized for the AHJ and the carrier: flow data tables, calibration records, alarm and transfer-switch results, deficiency list with code citations. Not a sticker on the controller door. The annual test is also where we catch the small problems that turn into emergency calls later.

New controller installation

When you're standing up a new pump room, replacing a pump skid wholesale, or the existing controller is past end-of-life and replacement parts are no longer available. Scope covers specification, sourcing, installation, PLC configuration, and acceptance testing with the AHJ on site. If the pump is healthy and only the controller needs to modernize, look at retrofits below โ€” the work scope and cost profile are very different.

24/7 emergency service

Pump is down right now, fire suppression is impaired, the AHJ has been notified or is about to be. The 24/7 line is an on-call rotation, so a real technician answers and rolls the truck; no dispatch desk, no subcontractors, no out-of-state handoffs. Statewide Georgia coverage, fastest response in NE Georgia. If the issue can wait until morning, controller repair is the cheaper path. The emergency rate is reserved for life-safety impairments.

Retrofits & upgrades

The pump itself is fine; the controller isn't keeping up with what your AHJ, your insurance carrier, or the building has become. Common triggers: legacy controller parts no longer manufactured, carrier requiring VFD-based pressure limiting, addition of generator backup the original controller was never specced for, or new alarm-monitoring requirements the existing unit can't output. A retrofit keeps the pump body, motor, and skid in place. Work concentrates at the controller cabinet, the upstream electrical service, and the alarm interface, which is what makes the project a fraction of the cost of a full replacement.

Preventive maintenance plans

A predictable line item that replaces scattered service calls and end-of-year compliance scrambles. Three tiers (annual, semi-annual, quarterly), right-sized to the pump room you have, with diesel refueling bundled in for diesel-equipped sites. Plan customers get priority emergency dispatch and reduced after-hours rates. The math usually favors a plan after the second unscheduled call in a year, and the trend reports it produces are useful when you're capital-planning a future replacement.
